Questions . . .
What grades do you have? St. Peter has classes for
kindergarten through eighth grade students in multi-aged,
multi-grade classrooms. Kindergarten offers a full or half-day
option.
What is the maximum class size?
Kindergarten has a class size limit of 15. Each grade is
limited to 12 or 13 students and each class has a limit of 25
children.
Do students receive religious instruction?
Helping children to grow in faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and
Savior is a primary purpose of St. Peter Lutheran School. All
children receive daily religious instruction. The entire
school worship together at Chapel once each week.
Are computers available to students?
Each child receives structured computer time working on activities
ranging from reinforcement in academic areas, to keyboard skills,
word processing, use of graphics and publication.
Do you have music, art and physical education
programs? Music and art are taught in all classrooms and
include both practical application and appreciation education.
Physical education is taught at all levels by the classroom teacher.
How do your students do in high school?
Transition to high school can be complicated for any young person.
Upon graduation, our students attend all local area high schools and
make the adjustment with confidence.
Do you have a sports program? St. Peter
Lutheran School is a member of the South Suburban Lutheran Athletic
League. We compete in boys' basketball (grades 4-8), and
girls' volleyball (grades 4-8). In addition, we offer
cheerleading and track.
Are there opportunities for parent participation?
Parents are encouraged to assist in many ways, including,
helping in our library, at recess, with sports programs, as well as
special activities and events. We have an active Parent-Teacher
League.
Do you have extended care? St. Peter operates
a Before and After School Care program at a minimal cost for
enrolled students.
Do you have bus service? Although we do
not have bus service, many parents car pool.
