In keeping with our Mission Statement and using the
requirements of the State of Illinois as guidelines, the students at St. Peter
receive instruction in the subject areas listed below:
LANGUAGE ARTS: Reading, Phonics, English, Spelling, Handwriting,
Written and Oral Communication, Literature
MATHEMATICS: Number Use, Arithmetic, Elementary Algebra, Geometry,
Measurement
SOCIAL SCIENCE: Social Studies, Geography, History, Civics, Current
Events
SCIENCE: Biological, Physical, Earth and Space, Technology
FINE ARTS: Art, Art Appreciation, Music, Music Appreciation
PHYSICAL EDUCATION: Fitness, Individual and Team Skills,
Sportsmanship
COMPUTER EDUCATION: Keyboard Skills, Word Processing
OUTDOOR EDUCATION: An off-site, week-long program of studies in a
camp-like setting for grades 5-8
Up-to-date textbooks
are used in conjunction with a variety of teaching strategies and additional materials
in traditional classroom settings.
Our students are exceptionally well-prepared academically and go on
to excel at the high school level. |
